OBITUARIES & CONDOLENCE

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Mathew Sam, commonly called Coopair or Noelice of Balata, who died at his residence in Greenhill, St. Michael, Barbados on Tuesday 16th September, 2025 at the age of 79. He was born and lived in Balata up to his youth and moved to Barbados where he lived most of his adult life.

Left to mourn;

His immediate family members are his daughter; Sadia Sam and his Stepson; Neil Headley residing in Barbados

Surviving siblings are: One sister; Jeanette Reynolds known as Tesase and one brother: Nicholas Sam also known as Titi both of Balata

41 Nieces and nephews as well as numerous grand nephews and nieces in St. Lucia, Barbados, USA and England

Many other cousins and relatives in St. Lucia, Barbados, St. Croix, USA and abroad, including the Sam, Alexander, Florent, Eristhee and Leonce families in St. Lucia particularly in Balata.

Also including the members of the Ebenezer SDA Church in St. Micheal, Barbados and his neighbors and members of the community of Balata

The funeral service for Matthew Sam also known as Coopair will be held on Friday 3rd October, 2025 at the Ebenezer SDA church in Barbados at 11:00am and then to the Westbury cemetery in St. Michael, Barbados for interment.
