Sending love to our friend Isaac Julien  Boulai, affectionately known amongst his close friends and family as “Brother B”. We met Julien in August of 2019 on our first trip to St. Lucia. We could not find our reserved air bnb and the host was not answering our calls. We were in a taxi stopped in a residential neighbourhood and Julien happened to be outside a house. We asked him if he knew of any air bnbs in the area and explained our situation. Julien said he did not know of an air bnb and said hey I’ve just renovated this place and have 4 rooms available. Come have a look. We ended up taking the room with a full kitchen and staying there for the rest of our trip. Fast forward a couple years later and we continued to stay at their house. By this time we had met Julien’s sister Letitia from New York who is part owner of the property. We became fast friends and they took good care of us every time we came back to St. Lucia. Soon they were like our own sister and brother. I am so grateful that I was able to pay my respects to Julien at his service yesterday. I hope he knows how beautiful his service was and how many of his friends, family and fellow taxi drivers were there for him. I am grateful that I was able to attend the wake in his home although it was weird being at his house and not seeing him there. I missed his presence. I loved meeting so many of his friends, cousins and other family members. Of course I was the only white person there. One fellow said to me hey you look like family! I am grateful to be welcomed. So many kind and loving people. Your memory will always be special. Rest in peace Julien. You will be dearly missed. Thank you for your friendship 💛🌼
