It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce that Deacon Winston Taylor of Bonne Terre, Gros Islet, passed away on September 16, 2023. He was born on November 30th, 1942, and lived a life dedicated to faith, family, and community. Deacon Taylor will be remembered as a pillar of strength and a source of wisdom for all who knew him.
A man of unwavering principles and traditional values, Deacon Taylor epitomized the essence of a loving husband, a caring father, and a devoted Christian. He embraced the teachings of his faith and lived them out daily, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of those he encountered.
Deacon Taylor's career spanned many years in the public and private sectors, and he retired as a respected employee of Minvielle & Chastanet Limited.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years:
Rosamund Taylor nee Saltibus, a retired employee of the St. Lucia Civil Service Co-operative Credit Union
Their 4 children and 7 grandchildren, including:
Roston Taylor, of North American Assemblies, and his family
Baldwin Taylor of Bank of Montserrat and his family
Justice Vivian Georgis Taylor - Alexander of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court and her family and
Barbara Taylor-Baghwan and family of Toronto, Canada
Also left to mourn are:
The families of the late Esmer Charles of Riverside Road, The Taylor, Joseph and Simmons families
Also left to mourn:
Ian Nathaniel of First Caribbean International Bank and the Saltibus families of Morne Fortune, Vieux Fort , New Jersey , Maryland and La Toc Road
A funeral service will be held in honor and celebration of the life of Deacon Winston Taylor at the St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church in Gros Islet on September 25th, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. The ceremony will be a time of remembrance, reflection, and celebration of a life well-lived. Family, friends, and community members are invited to pay their respects and bid farewell to him.
The body will then be interred at the Gros- Islet cemetery.
The body now lies at Rambally’s Funeral Parlour, Calvary Road, Castries.
