She held our world together, while hers sometimes fell apart. She stood 4 feet 11 inches tall while we hid, cowering behind her. Our heroine, our warrior! Mum, we must let you go, as your angels take you home.

We announce the end of a journey and the start of a new one in Heaven for Maria Malaykhan also known as Mum, Mammy or Ma Joe. She passed away at 1:50 p.m. on Sunday, March 05, 2023 at her residence in Guesneau. She was 96 years old.

Christine Khodra, her Caretaker, and family of Forestierre, who are also mourning the loss of a husband and father Rufus Khodra who recently passed 4 days after mum

The service in celebration of Mum’s life will be held at the Sacred Heart Church, Marchand, on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. following which her body will be interred at the Forestierre Methodist Cemetery.

Her body now lies at Rambally’s Funeral Parlour, Calvary Road, Castries.
